Battle of Britain Medal

THEO FABERGÉ HONOURS THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN PILOTS

In the presence of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and some 900 guests, the BATTLE OF BRITAIN MEDALS were presented to some 80 of the surviving Few who defended the skies of Britain between July and October 1940. These were no ordinary medals, but rather based on the mark 3 Spitfire propeller and commissioned by RAF Museum Hendon and the Air League. These medals are made in gold and silver.

The most exclusive edition is an edition of only 3 in solid gold and diamonds. Number 1 was auctioned during the 15 September 2005 black-tie dinner and reached a superb price of £7000 the funds of which are jointly shared by the Air League and RAF Museum Hendon. Number 3 has been specially reserved for St Petersburg Collection collectors.
